{"id":129,"date":"2006-05-29T19:58:35","date_gmt":"2006-05-29T19:58:35","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Castlerosse\/Admiral_Park_Open_Space_and_Baldoyle_Access_to_Park_and_Pitches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidhealy.com\/?p=129","title":{"rendered":"Castlerosse\/Admiral Park Open Space and Baldoyle Access to Park and Pitches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fingal County Council has put three alternative designs for the open space between Castlerosse and Admiral Park on public display. <\/p>\n<p>One is to integrate the open space and provide a planted pedestrian access from Grange Road through the open space to the new park and pitches which are going on the open land between Baldoyle and Portmarnock.<\/p>\n<p>The second is to provide the access through the open space but with railings on both sides, dividing it from Castlerosse and from Admiral Park.<\/p>\n<p>The third is to maintain and strengthen exisiting boundaries.&nbsp; Castlerosse would be permanently divided from Admiral Park and there would be no access from here to the new park and pitches.&nbsp; The consultation is on until 5th July. The final decision will be made by the members of the County Council.<\/p>\n<p>I have asked for the plans and information to be put on the Council website.&nbsp; When it is I will link to it.&nbsp; In the meantime, I attach the text of the consultation notice and black-and-white copies of the 3 option maps.<\/p>\n<p>I am particularly interested in hearing from children and young people in the area, as your \/ their voice is often not fully heard on issues which affect them.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the documents below are at a scale suited for printing and may appear quite large on screen. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span class=\"contentpane\">COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE<br \/>\nGALL<br \/>FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span class=\"contentpane\">Planning &amp; Development Act 2000<br \/>\nPlanning &amp; Development Regulations 2001<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span class=\"contentpane\">PROPOSED DESIGN OF OPEN SPACE<br \/>\nBETWEEN CASTLEROSSE AND<br \/>ADMIRAL PARK, BALDOYLE<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">In accordance with Part VIII of the<br \/>\nPlanning and Development Regulations 2001, Fingal<br \/>County Council hereby gives notice or its intention to develop the open space<br \/>\nlocated between<br \/>Castlerosse Estate. Admiral Park Estate.<br \/>\nGrange Road and the proposed Millennium Park,<br \/>Baldoyle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Three options for the development of the<br \/>\nopen space are presented. Members of the public are<br \/>\ninvited to make Submission? and Observations<br \/>\nwith respect to each of the three options and to<br \/>\nclearly indicate their preferred option<br \/>\nfor the proposed development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Option 1 shows a) the<br \/>\ndevelopment of a wide tree lined<br \/>\nboulevard type access from Grange<br \/>\nRoad to Millennium park; b) the removal of the existing<br \/>\npalisade fence currently located on<br \/>\nthe open space boundary between Castlerosse<br \/>\nEstate and Admiral Park Estate; c) a gated<br \/>\nfeature entrance on Grange Road: d) building up of the garden side wall at number<br \/>\n14 Grange<br \/>\nRoad; and d) extensive landscape planting, including trees, hedges, bulbs etc. will be used to<br \/>\nenhance this entrance<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Option 2 shows<br \/>\na) the development of a wide tree lined boulevard type<br \/>\naccess from Grange<br \/>\nRoad to Millennium Park. bounded on both<br \/>\nsides and along Grange Road by new solid bar<br \/>\nrailings approximately 2m high; b) a gated feature entrance on Grange Road; c)<br \/>\nlink paths and<br \/>\npedestrian gates in the railings. These gates will provide the option of<br \/>\ndirect access to the<br \/>\nboulevard from either estate. They can be locked and unlocked in accordance<br \/>\nwith<br \/>\nMillennium Park opening times and will remained locked unless residents decide<br \/>\notherwise;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">d) building up of the garden side<br \/>\nwalls to number 50 Castlerosse View and number 14 Grange<br \/>\nRoad; e) extensive landscape planting,<br \/>\nincluding trees, hedges, bulbs etc. will be used to<br \/>\nenhance this entrance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Option 3 shows a) the replacement of the<br \/>\nexisting palisade fence currently located on the<br \/>\nopen space boundary between Castlerosse Estate and Admiral Park Estate with new<br \/>\nsolid bar<br \/>\nrailings approximately 2m high; b) building up of the garden side walls to<br \/>\nnumber 50<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Castlerosse View and number 14<br \/>\nGrange Road; c) landscape improvements and associated<br \/>\nsite works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Submissions and Observations made with regard to the proposed development dealing with<br \/>\nthe proper planning and sustainable<br \/>\ndevelopment of the area in which the development would<br \/>\noccur may be made in writing to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span class=\"contentpane\">Mr John Burke<br \/>\nAdministrative Officer<br \/>\nParks Division<br \/>\nFingal County Council<br \/>\nCounty Hall<br \/>\nMain Street<br \/>\nSwords<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpane\">Submissions may also be made via e-mail<br \/>\nto john.burke@fingalcoco.ie<br \/>On or before Wednesday 5th July 2006 (4.00 p.m.){mosimage}{mosimage}{mosimage}<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fingal County Council has put three alternative designs for the open space between Castlerosse and Admiral Park on public display.
