The Land Development Agency (LDA) which recently bought the unbuilt development land at Stapolin, much of which has had a planning permission since 2016 and which has been only partly constructed, has committed publicly to prioritising the completion and opening of the new access to Clongriffin railway station via the planned Stapolin Square. \u00a0The commitment was given in a letter to Fingal County Council, noted at today\u2019s meeting.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The previous owners, Richmond Homes, had deprioritised the access to the station in its phasing of development, leaving the community facing indefinite reliance on the dilapidated and scary temporary access provided in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That led to Friends of the Irish Environment seeking a Judicial Review in January<\/a> in relation to a planning decision by Fingal County Council, which accepted a proposal from Richmond Homes to defer the Stapolin Square element of the development until the end of the planning permission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I expect that this commitment by the LDA will enable the judicial review to be rapidly resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
