{"id":205,"date":"2006-12-01T12:28:40","date_gmt":"2006-12-01T12:28:40","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Water_Supply_Disruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidhealy.com\/?p=205","title":{"rendered":"Water Supply Disruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dublin City Council is cutting off the water supply over the weekend for work related to the Port Tunnel.&nbsp; Fingal County Council, which is dependent on the City Council for water supply to Baldoyle and Bayside was only informed on Wednesday.&nbsp; According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ireland.com\/newspaper\/ireland\/2006\/1201\/1164823771019.html\" target=\"_self\">Irish Times<\/a>, the City Council deliberately decided not to give any more notice:<\/p>\n<p><em>&quot;The work was planned but the council decided not to give notice<br \/>\nearlier, Mr McKeown said. &quot;This is not emergency work, but if we<br \/>\ngave notice earlier we felt people might forget when the time<br \/>\ncame.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><\/em>Fingal&#8217;s policy contained in its Water Services Standards of Service&nbsp; (approved by the Environment SPC which I chair) requires<br \/><em><strong>&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; For planned major interruptions written notification to all affected premises at least 3 days in advance.&quot;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/em>The reason this has not happened in this instance is the lack of notice from Dublin City Council.<\/p>\n<p>Information on the stoppage is below. <\/p>\n<p> Important Notice &#8211; Disruption of Water Supply<\/p>\n<p>From 8pm on Friday 1st December to 6pm on Sunday 3rd December 2006<\/p>\n<p>Dublin City Council are carrying out major works in Fairview Park in conjunction with the Dublin Port Tunnel, which will affect water supply in parts of the City and County.<\/p>\n<p>As a result the following areas may experience a disruption to their supply during the periods in question:<\/p>\n<p>Baldoyle<\/p>\n<p>Sutton (from Dublin City Council boundary on Kilbarrack Road with Dublin Road to Sutton Cross)<\/p>\n<p>Every effort will be made to ensure that Fingal County Council Customers will not be affected, however the Water Services Department will be providing 2 Water Tankers at the following locations for consumers to minimise this disruption:<\/p>\n<p>LOCATION&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;TIMES<\/p>\n<p>Bayside Shopping Centre &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Sat 0900-2100 hrs,&nbsp; Sunday 1000-2000 hrs<\/p>\n<p>Racecourse Shopping Centre&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Sat 0900-2100 hrs,&nbsp; Sunday 1000-2000 hrs<br \/>Baldoyle<\/p>\n<p>Fingal County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of these essential works but with your co-operation and understanding we hope to keep the disruption to a minimum. <\/p>\n<p>Water is precious.&nbsp; Let&#8217;s conserve it. &#8211; T&aacute; uisce luachmhar.
