{"id":216,"date":"2007-02-01T22:09:22","date_gmt":"2007-02-01T22:09:22","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Intergovernmental_Panel_on_Climate_Change_Report_released_on_2nd_February","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidhealy.com\/?p=216","title":{"rendered":"Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report released on 2nd February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The Summary for Policymakers of the report, &ldquo;Climate Change 2007: The Physical Science Basis&rdquo;, the first volume of &ldquo;Climate Change 2007&rdquo;, will be released on 2nd February.&nbsp; The press conference will be broadcast live on the web.<\/p>\n<p>Extracts from the <a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/press\/prwg1.htm\">press release<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The report assesses the current scientific knowledge of the natural and human<br \/>\ndrivers of climate change, observed changes in climate, the ability of<br \/>\nscience to attribute changes to different causes, and projections for<br \/>\nfuture climate change.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The Report includes significantly advanced observations of the climate<br \/>\nsystem, presents new projections of future global climate change using<br \/>\nresults from 19 climate models, all with improved representations of<br \/>\nphysics, chemistry, and spatial resolution. The report also covers the<br \/>\nrange of anthropogenic greenhouse gases and other factors that drive<br \/>\nclimate change. There will also be a Chapter assessing the<br \/>\npaleoclimatic perspective.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The WGI report does not cover the impacts of climate change or options<br \/>\nfor the mitigation of climate change.
