{"id":310,"date":"2010-05-04T15:59:05","date_gmt":"2010-05-04T15:59:05","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-08-03T15:47:55","modified_gmt":"2021-08-03T15:47:55","slug":"howth_junction_station_needs_planning_permission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidhealy.com\/?p=310","title":{"rendered":"Howth Junction Station needs planning permission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Green activist David Healy welcomes An Bord Plean\u00e1la&#8217;s ruling that Howth Junction Station needs planning permission.<\/p>\n<p>An Bord Plean\u00e1la has ruled that most of Howth Junction train station was illegally rebuilt without planning permission.\u00a0 The decision was made in response to a section 5 referral submitted by Fingal County Council as a result of a motion from then Councillor David Healy.\u00a0 David is particularly concerned that the rebuilt train station does not provide for mobility impaired access to F\u00e1s Training Centre and Baldoyle Industrial Estate.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Bord Plean\u00e1la decision means that a planning application to Fingal<br \/>County Council will now have to be made by Iarnr\u00f3d \u00c9ireann for the<br \/>section of the station on the east of the Dublin-Belfast line.\u00a0 This<br \/>will give an opportunity for the public to seek the necessary<br \/>improvements to the station.<\/p>\n<p>Dublin City Council (who granted<br \/>planning permission for the part of the station to the west of the<br \/>Dublin-Belfast line) have already required that full mobility-impaired<br \/>access is provided at the station.
