ITEM NO. 4<\/p>\n<p>LITTER PROBLEM AT HARBOUR ROAD HOWTH<\/p>\n<p>Question:&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Councillor D. Healy<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To ask the Manager to report on the ongoing litter problem at Harbour<br \/>\nRoad Howth, in particular the litter deriving from commercial premises?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Reply:<\/p>\n<p>There are approximately 50 litter bins on Harbour Road, Howth.&nbsp; In<br \/>\naddition to this, extra bins are provided at weekends to cater for the<br \/>\ninflux of visitors to the area.&nbsp; The street cleaning schedule for<br \/>\nHarbour Road includes a litter van and a hand cart operator who clean<br \/>\nand sweep the area on a daily basis, and a mechanical road sweeper,<br \/>\nwhich cleans the area each Sunday.&nbsp; It is felt that this level of<br \/>\nservice is sufficient for the needs of the area.<\/p>\n<p>If the Councillor wishes to forward the names of the commercial<br \/>\npremises that are in breach of the Act, the Litter Warden will call to<br \/>\nthe premises to remind the owners of their obligations under the Act or<br \/>\nface prosecution. The Litter Warden patrols the area on a daily basis<br \/>\nand will monitor the commercial premises along Harbour Road.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>ITEM NO.&nbsp; 12<\/p>\n<p>FOOTPATH REPAIRS ON BALKILL ROAD<\/p>\n<p>BETWEEN DRUNGRIFFAN ROAD AND WINDGATE ROAD<\/p>\n<p>Question: Councillor D. Healy<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To ask the Manager to repair the footpath on Balkill Road between Dungriffan Road and Windgate Road?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Reply:<\/p>\n<p>There is no provision in the current Transportation Programme of Works<br \/>\nfor footpath improvements at the location referred to in the question.<\/p>\n<p>Footpath improvements at this location will be considered for inclusion<br \/>\nin the context of the preparation of the Draft Transportation Programme<br \/>\nof Works for 2006.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>ITEM NO.&nbsp; 13<\/p>\n<p>INSPECTION OF THE SLOPE BETWEEN DUNBO HILL<\/p>\n<p>AND CHURCH STREET<\/p>\n<p>Question: Councillor D. Healy<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To ask the Manager if he is satisfied with the stability of the slope<br \/>\nbetween Dunbo Hill and Church Street in the light of planning<br \/>\napplications on Dunbo Hill and anticipated construction traffic and<br \/>\nwhether he would consider putting a weight limit on Dunbo Hill or<br \/>\ntaking other steps to investigate the stability of the slope or reduce<br \/>\nthe risk of failure?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Reply:<\/p>\n<p>The slope at the location referred to in the question was examined by<br \/>\nofficials from this Department on 20th October 2005 and was found to be<br \/>\nstable.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of high levels of construction traffic using the road,<br \/>\nfurther examinations will take place with a view to ensuring continued<br \/>\nstability of the road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the issues I raised on 3rd November are written up as separate pieces.&nbsp; There are three other minor questions below.
