Green Councillor for the Baldoyle area (Fingal County Council) David
Healy today welcomed An Bord Pleanála’s ruling that the mobile phone
transmitters located beside St. Peter and Paul’s Boys’ National School
in Baldoyle are unauthorised development.
Cllr. Healy said:
"The fact that these transmitters are illegal has been clear all along.
An Bord Pleanála has now upheld Fingal County Council’s ruling which
the mobile phone had company appealed. Hutchison 3G who erected these
transmitters in stealth must stop stringing out the process and take
them down now. The local residents and parents of children in the
school and the school management itself are all to be congratulated for
their long hours of civic work in opposing this company. It is time for
the precautionary principle to be applied – no more transmitters should
be allowed beside schools."
